Learning Gems
At Crockerne, we are all successful learners. We recognise success in ourselves and each other by focusing on our six learning gems.
Each term, we focus on a different gem power in order to help us grow and develop as successful learners; we know that effort, attitude and self-belief are the foundation of all learning. Our learning gems allow us to demonstrate our learning behaviours, attitudes and habits enabling us to grow and flourish, to 'let our light shine.'

Each gem and associated learning behaviour is explained below, along with how children can apply this to their learning:
- Diamond- being responsible
- Emerald - being courageous and sticking with it even when it gets tough
- Sapphire - keeping focus
- Ruby - supporting others
- Topaz - collaboration, learning in a big group
- Amethyst - cooperation, learning with a partner
