Crockerne Church of England Primary School

To be the best me that I can be

Our Values

At Crockerne, our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning and help create an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy, well-rounded children.

Our school is underpinned by the parable of the Good Samaritan, found in Luke 10: 25 – 37. The values and ethos of this parable support our School Vision that each child can be “The best ‘me’ I can be”

Promoting Fundamental British Values

In accordance with The Department for Education we aim to actively promote British values in schools to ensure young people leave school prepared for life in modern Britain. We primarily focus on these through our acts of Collective Worship and follow up across the curriculum.  Pupils are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that while different people may hold different views about what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’, all people living in England are subject to its law.  As you can see from the diagram above they are woven into our daily practice.

The Key Values are:

  • democracy
  • rule of law
  • individual liberty
  • mutual respect
  • tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs
