Swimming pool

One of our greatest assets is our swimming pool, which reopens each summer in May. All children within Key Stage 2 currently swim with our trained staff as part of their PE curriculum.  We are rolling out the training to staff in Key Stage 1.  Swimming is a life skill for all children, but is more important in Pill, as this is a community based around the life of a river.

The pool is also used for swimming lessons, delivered by an external swim schools, details can be accessed from the main office.  Children do not have to be pupils at Crockerne to sign up.

During the open season the pool group run Saturday swims for families at a cost of £2 per swimmer (under 1 year olds go free). All children need to be accompanied by an adult.  Check for updates when we are open.

Also don’t forget the Pool is available for hire – its great fun for children’s parties or just for a fun family swim. You can hire it for just an hour or a morning/afternoon at weekends. Contact the school for more details.  We charge £26.40 which includes insurance and VAT, a lifeguard is required for each session.  Please contact the main office for details.

We are looking for funds to renew the roof, which will enable us to keep the pool open all year round. If you could help we would love to have your support.
